This site was created to help all AMC/Rambler enthusiasts find information pertaining to their cars. Using the menu to the left one should be able to find all information needed to identify and start restoring any AMC made from 1955 (first year AMC badged cars were produced) to 1988 (last year for AMC badged vehicles). Some information will pertain to 1970-1988 Jeep vehicles. The Renault Alliance, Encore, GTA, and Eagle Premier are also included. Please enjoy the information now available, and help to document AMC history on the web by contributing when you can. Here's what's currently available:

Technical info

Hi,
I just went through your listing of carbs for AMC applications and was impressed by the list, however, I could not find what I was after and thought I would add what I could.
From 1970 forward there are not many V-8's listed and what is identified as 350 cid should be changed to 360 cid.
My engine is a 360 cid 290 HP in my AMX w/4 speed and should show a Carter model 4300 code OWM4.
The TSM shows that as the same carb for the 390.
I believe the Holley that is mentioned in the listing is a group 19 offering.
I'm sure other members could help finish the listings as far as V-8's are concerned.
Keep up the great work.
Don

American Independent Magazine

I have been a constant subscriber of AIM, now also called called American Motors Cars, since its inceptions and have found it to be a true treasure of information over the years. I still have every issue from the very first and periodically use the information contained within many of the issues as reference material when needed.

In one of the upcoming issues there will be write up of my recently rebuilt 390 that dyno'd out at 460 HP and 453 lbft of torque using readily available common components other than ported and polished 291C heads and a custom grind Comp full roller valve train.

For those who wish to build up a 390 engine, you should readily be able to get 400+hp using off the shelf parts on a normal rebuild when combined with a balanced rotating assembly and competition valve job.

Regards,
Dan Curtis
