1967 AMC Ambassador Convertible RHD

Hello,

is it possible to get information how many of the only 1.260 built 67 Ambassador Convertibles were built with the right hand drive option ?
I know one built for the UK / Europe. Are there more of these cars ??

Regards
Marco

Unfortunately there is no production info breaking the 67 model year down in detail -- just number of each model produced each month. At least I don't have it. It may exist, but if it does it's in some private collector's hands who doesn't want to share it, or hasn't found the time/means to do so. All I have been able to find is the final production report, which doesn't even show how many knock-down kit (for final assembly overseas) were made. That's usually how the RHD models started out, though a few were fully assembled in Canada for shipment to Commonwealth nations. In 67 the only car assembled in Canada was the Rebel though. Does your Ambassador have a 118" or 114" wheelbase? Sometimes export models used the Classic/Rebel shell with Ambassador trim and nameplates. The door tag info on yours should indicate if it was built in Kenosha or Brampton (Canada). The body number would start with a 7, otherwise the body was built in Kenosha. The VIN will have a "B" as the third character also (for Brampton -- K would be Kenosha). I don't think there was an assembler in the UK because so few cars were sold there. Exported cars were all built in Kenosha, except for the few mentioned built in Canada.
