1970 Javlin SST
Hey guys,
I'm seriously thinking about buying this car on craigslist. (http://nashville.craigslist.org/cto/800093149.html)
I also found ebay item 280257951143. Both are 1970 Javlin SST's but the body style seems to be slightly different. Am I seeing things or is there an explanation?
Is the Craigslist Car worth it? Especially since it's got a Chrysler engine?

this philosopher-king may not know that amc also made 360s, or that
'70 was the first year for them.

Thomas, the craigslist car is not a 70. I am not as familiar with the
newer body style so I can't tell what it is but I have a 70 and it is
like the ebay one.

The Craigslist car is, I believe, a '71. I'd give him $1000 for it.

That's a 71-74 car, not a 1970. The taillights are from a 71, so my
guess is that the production tag in the door shows fall 1970 for the
1971 model year, and that may be why the seller thinks it's a '70.
The grille looks like it's off a '74. It has the optional
cowl-induction hood.
In all probability, it has an AMC 360, not a Mopar LA-block 360. If
the distributor sticks out at an angle in front of the intake manifold,
it's an AMC engine. The Mopar engine would have the distributor be
behind it (as far as I know).

It's likely an AMC360, with a clueless owner.
