The above is also today's "AMC PIE IN THE SKY" award winner. $500 for a car that's worth $75 for what's left of the interior and perhaps some trim pieces, with most of the functional stuff taken out of it and a surplus of rust. Dang, not even the hood medallion.

This car is a great restoration project. Its a one of kind. 98,000 original miles. Still has a good interior (black). Has the classic race car style that AMC is famous for. No interior dash or door cracks. Carpet is in excellent condition. Pedals still look like new. Back seat in perfect condition. Front seats no tears but the drivers seat seams are starting to come apart. All original equipment accept for the Holley carb. It has a 290 V-8 engine. Automatic trans. Limited slip rearend and air condition. This car is lightweight and fast. Will not take much to get this car mobile. Fuel system needs to be cleaned. Belts replaced. All glass and bumpers intact and in great condition.
Located in Edgewood TX.

I can see $1500. Maybe.
Man, too bad about that deep surface rust. Any bets on what the underside looks like?

Good start, but pretty steep. Lots of wiggle room. If the interior was in as good of shape as he states, there would be pics. I love the statement that AMC was famous for "racecar styling"...Russ

The underside is probably very good with no rust. That Texas sun can burn the paint off over time. I bet that car has never been repainted, the factory paint has just worn off allowing surface rust. I've seen many old western cars that way and a lot of them mush older. Still solid floors and everywhere, just rusted on the surface. A good sanding, a coat of high-build primer, more sanding, then maybe even a second coat of high-build (at least in the worst spots) and there ya go! My wagon came from Georgia and also had a lot of surface rust but was solid everywhere else (except bottom of tailgate). Original paint, never repainted. The roof was just about as bad as the hood on that Javelin, the rest wasn't quite so bad.

There is generalization that Southern car are good for metal restoration and Northern climes good for plastic restoration.....Russ

Yeah, any time someone goes on and on about how glorious the car is or can be, and then only provides a few long distance crappy pictures, is hiding something. You either don't provide any pictures or a boat load.
The car looks like your typical project that was abandoned. Bid accordingly.....Russ

Yeah, and the "pedals are like new" means he went to AutoZone and bought new
pads. Or the seller could have got it that way and simply believes "pedals
like new" means something.
