232 Water pump

I got the "new" water pump on the 232 last night and buttoned it all up with a sense of dread because it seems I always have at least one small leak to fix..  Last night I had a big leak.  The water outlet (covering the themostat) had a large crack in it.   There was no visible crack before I installed it, but I think I might have pinched the lip of the thermostat between the cylinder head and the water outlet.  I'll never know for sure I guess.  I checked my easily available used parts boxes and I couldn't find a spare.  There is a corroded, worn outlet on a 199 in my back yard, but I'll only use that as a last resort.  There's a 77 Hornet wagon with a 258 in a local junkyard which I will probably visit tomorrow.  Anybody need any parts from a 77 Hornet wagon?

Joe,
If you don't come up with a good one, I believe I have at least two here.
Let me know, One is on my tool cart, IIRC and the other should still be on the 232 in the shed.
I hope now that the heat has dropped below 95 I can get back to cleaning out my shed this weekend.

Same thing happened to me. I stripped it off and took it to a lisenced air
craft welder, he fixed it and no more leak. I would still like to replace
it, but there are no spares available at the bottom end of Africa where we
live.

Jim; when you visit the junkyard on that Hornet wagon, check and see if it has the chrome arm rest bases and door pull trim. The eagles had them in chrome and some concordes, I saw a gremlin with them, and let me know.
I have written several people and no one seems to have them.....Russ
