Submitted by Eddie Stakes on February 2, 2012 - 11:55pmThat is December 2011, not 2010, so about month ago. Sorry for typo. At one point my site was getting 43,000 hits per day. I just
wished one of my immensely wealthy nigerian friends who wish to share untold riches with me would actually come thru one time and
bask humble & honorable me with monies they promise.
771, 000 website hits for planethoustonamx.com in 1 month
Submitted by Eddie Stakes on February 2, 2012 - 11:33pmThought some of you might like to see this....my website got a whopping 771,000 hits for December 2010. I installed a program to
monitor my site behind the scenes back last summer and was surprised to see the amount of traffic. Note my notes with this about
nigerians, bots, spiders and what not. But still pleasantly surprised by it.
68/69 AMX/Javelin Trim Mounting Question
Submitted by John Lunde on February 2, 2012 - 2:59pmHello,
just wondering if any of you could please tell me how many holes, and their location, on the leading edge of the hood for the installation of the stainless trim, as well as for the front fender extensions for the J-trim pieces? These areas required some work during my restoration and the clip holes are no longer there!
Thanks,
John

Rare AMC V8 Valve Covers
Submitted by John Lunde on February 2, 2012 - 11:32amHello everyone, did anyone of you see the valve covers listed on eBay a few days ago for $1000
http://www.ebay.com/itm/180802535075?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
The guy originally claimed they were rare Group 7 items and when I told him group 7 were shifter parts, and group 19 was performance goodies, he changed it to group 19. I then told him there was no such group 19 item listed in the AMC catalogue and that they look very much like the Aerolite ones.
Here is his last message to me:
"Hello John: Thanks for your input re: these valve covers.
AMC limousines & the Argentina Ambassador limo
Submitted by Eddie Stakes on February 1, 2012 - 6:10pmSeveral things stick out here. The video from 1973 is facinating. Yes, that is a 66, possibly 65 AMC Rambler Ambassador the
presidente is riding in. But that was probably built in Argentina. And due to it being a historical vehicle, will never leave
Argentina, so don't ya'll get any ideas. Reminds me of North Korean dictator Kim John Il's funeral procession, of which there are
several angles of it on youtube.
amc limosines
Submitted by Eddie Stakes on January 31, 2012 - 11:37pmI believe there were 7 69 Ambassador limosines made, and only 1 known to still exist.
Doug D mentioned sign of times.....there is NO shoratage of limosines here in Houston, we led the nation in job creation last year
so lots of $$$ around, mostly energy $$$. I'm fond of the Hummer limos...those are sweet, follwed by Jeep limos.

as for frugal, how about a 1961 Rambler limosine? BYOB! Has television, full bar, phone, not cell but dial up!
Can anyone help this guy? - IKA Ambassador
Submitted by Larry R. Daum on January 31, 2012 - 7:34pmHi -
I am a former AMO member - I owned a 1966 Ambassador convertible from
1975 to 1991. The car then became part of the Peter Hill collection,
and I have remained a fan of this era of AMC cars. Recently I
discovered a you tube video that included a 1973 clip of President
Juan Domingo Per?n at his return to Argentina from Spain. I noticed
that the Ambassador limousine that he was in is an exceptionally
appealing vehicle. Is there any way that the provenance of this car
can be traced?
rust repair
Submitted by Frank Swygert on January 31, 2012 - 7:12pmThe easiest way to do this is to cut the floor right in front of or beneath the front seat all the way across the car (rockers and all) and cut the windshield posts about half way up. You need to cut the car you're fixing PRECISELY where you want the weld to be. Use a cut off wheel or a skill saw with metal cutting blade (eye AND EAR protection -- will be LOUD!!). That will be better than a sawzall. On the donor car you can cut a little extra, then trim as needed. You need to take CAREFUL measurements and have a level floor, plus a good welder (machine and person).
